Rants and raves: Lets talk about customer service...
Have you ever tried ordering ADSL on the phone? How about queuing for a day at Home Affairs..? Or sitting home for hours waiting for your plumber who was supposed to arrive “now now”? Let’s face it - the standards of customer service in many local companies, big and small, are considerably more “relaxed” compared to what most of us are used to coming from overseas, which makes finding companies that offer good service that much more valuable. We have been getting quite a few emails describing your experiences - a mix of frustrations, hilarity and an occasional bright spark of gratitude for a job well done. Your emails prompted us to think about introducing a permanent section where we will publish your rants and raves. So make yourself heard, let the expat community learn from your experiences - positive or negative, and help us find the best and the worst of the South African service industry.
