Picknick sites

Perfect for a multitute of occasions - from an outing with kids to romantic date, we highly recommend these picnics sites:

  • Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve: take your pick from the many beautiful and often deserted beaches in the nature reserve, but remember to keep an eye out for the hungry baboons
  • Clifton: The ultimate sunset supper on the beach, but remember to keep the alcohol hidden, as it is illegal to “drink“ on the beach
  • Costantia: you can take your basket to enjoy on the grounds of Groot Costantia, or get a pre-packed picnic at Buitenverwachting (083 2576083)
  • Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens: A Sunday afternoon institution, especially from December to March when you can enjoy a concert surrounded by beautiful fragrant flowers.
  • Silvermine Nature Reserve: A beautiful spot for picnic or a leisure walk around the tannin stained water of the reserve’s central reservoir

In addition to these, lots of winefarms have beautiful picnic grounds and sell picnic baskets, and naturally wine to go with them.
