Furniture

Locally made furniture is affordable and some of it is very good quality. Most of it is classic or colonial style, made of wood stained to any colour. There are also a few places that make up great modern/minimalist pieces at very reasonable prices.  You can also find beautiful antique pieces at good prices. Basic furniture (a-la IKEA) may be difficult to find.  Imported furniture is available but considerably more expensive than overseas. To keep abreast of the developments on the interior design scene, read House & Leisure, House & Garden, Elle Decoration and Visi magazines.
Here is the list of recommended stores. Bear in mind that most furniture made to order requires 6-8 weeks lead time.
